PCS: Photographer’s Child Syndrome {Delaware Child Photographer}

I had the bright idea this afternoon to get a few quick shots of Molly to make Valentine’s Day cards for her friends at preschool.  Plus, I had just gotten a couple fake floor setups and was dying to use them.  And since I was getting everything out, I figured I’d might as well take a few of CJ while I was at it.  I mean, after all, I am always up for any excuse to slick his hair up in a mohawk.  Add a pair of jeans and some temporary tattoos?  ::swoon::

So, like I said, I thought it was a bright idea.  It lasted all of about fifteen minutes before I threw in the towel (it was either that or throw my children out the window).  I posted a picture of the outtakes on my facebook page HERE.

But I did manage to squeak out two decent ones of each kid and that’s all I was really looking for anyway.

Melissa - Erin these look AWESOME 🙂 And I have to say I really ENJOYED the “outtakes” posted on facebook. It those outtakes that are going to make the best stories as they grow older.

Lea - Ha, ha! I love it! PCS…my kids TOTALLY suffer from it. They all but run for the hills when I pull out my camera!

This little beauty was born just before Christmas and I got to squeeze in a session with her before we left for vacation. She was just a calm and alert baby!

angie - these are awsome! great job!

Cindy Knotts - Hi Erin. You probably don’t remember me, but I was the other woman running around KCCS with a camera in front of her face. I loved looking at your pictures. They are true works of art. I too love photography and I’m getting into it as a business. I am not as established as you, I don’t even have a website up yet. So far, I’ve been getting business by word of mouth, but I would love to build on it. You inspire me!! I really enjoyed your blogs! I have the hardest time pricing, because everyone wants everything, but they all want it for nothing! It’s discouraging. You’re right, the photo shoot is just the beginning, hours of Photoshop, traveling, preparing and everything else is never taken into consideration not to mention the price of schooling we’ve had to refine our art. . I’ve done several weddings, lots of newborns and families and with each shoot, I learn more and more. I stumbled upon your website just as I was feeling discouraged and wondering if I am charging too much. Considering the thousands of dollars in equipment (and you know we always want more) we could use a raise. I was really trying to get an idea of what other photographers were charging for weddings, newborns and family portraits. I too prefer location portraits because of the diversity and comfort of the clients
(esp little ones). I just had to let you know I KNOW you are a true artist!! Keep shooting!! Cindy
